Final Mercury Retrograde of 2000
By Felissa Rose
For the final time in 2000 Mercury goes retrograde on October 18 9:34 AM EDT at 15 degrees 47 minutes of Scorpio. It will go direct on November 7 9:22 PM EST at twenty nine degrees 57 minutes of Libra.
Expect the usual delays in communications and technological breakdowns during the retrograde period as people have difficulty making decisions and taking action. This retrograde period has an interesting slant falling in the three week period right before a presidential election with quite a few senate, governor and congressional contests being decided as well.
Interestingly the day Mercury goes direct Tuesday, November 7, 2000 is election day in the United States. There’s a good chance in many electoral contests of having an uncertain outcome until the actual election. This could be one where people don’t make up their minds about who they’ll be voting for until they’re in the election booth. Right after Mercury goes direct information could come out about candidates that would have given the election a different outcome.
